Originally built as the second home of the First Swedish Baptist Church in 1910, the Temple Baptist Church served the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Duluth. The predominantly Swedish congregation worshiped here in Swedish and English until 1935 when the building became home to Temple Baptist Church, and neighborhood demographics began changing.
Today, the building is used by Waters Edge Community Church — still affiliated with the Baptist Church — and continues to meet the neighborhood’s needs by providing a place to grab a hot meal, get addiction recovery support, and provide a place to worship. You can find the church on West Third Street in the Lincoln Park neighborhood.
